How Chlorella and Spirulina Are Harvested
Most chlorella and spirulina is grown in large ponds under special conditions. Things like sunlight and water movement are regulated in order to optimally grow this algae. Once the growth cycle is complete, the micro-algae are strained from the water and dried out. It is then either sold as powder, or compacted into a tablet or capsule and sold that way.

Both chlorella and spirulina are real foods, so you it would be pretty hard to "overdose" on it, but I recommend starting with small quantities, because it's a powerful detoxifier and it produces similar results to a laxative, if you know what I mean. :) Oh and by the way, if you consume a lot of this algae on a regular basis, you'll notice that your stools turn greenish. That's a good thing; it's a sign that you're taking enough chlorella and spirulina to gain the many health benefits they offer!
